What is Better Choices, Better Health®?
Living with a long-term (chronic) health condition can be hard. Better Choices, Better Health® is a free group workshop for adults who live with or support someone with a chronic health condition. Choose between one of two workshops:
- Better Choices, Better Health® – Chronic Disease: for those with conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, arthritis, gastrointestinal (GI), depression, long COVID-19 and others.
- Better Choices, Better Health® – Chronic Pain: for those with conditions like fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, persistent pain, migraines, arthritis and others.
These workshops can help improve your confidence by learning new self-management skills and to enjoy a better quality of life.

Events
Fall Training for becoming a Visitor
Spring training was very well attended with some folks wanting to continue their journey by becoming visitors. We will have a fall training session at St. Matthew Lutheran church but dates and times will be announced later. Training will be provided by Pastor Mark Rekken, our Director of Pastoral Care. Parking is available in the back of the church, spots 1-3 or there is some street parking out in front. If you are interested in the fall training please call the office at 403-264-4045 or call Pastor Rekken at 587-228-2597.
AGM (Annual General Meeting)
The Annual General Meeting was held on March 21, 2026 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at 10 am. The 2025 Financials and the budget for 2026 were approved. The Board of Directors remained the same for 2026.
Budget Meeting
The 2027 annual Budget Meeting will be held on Nov 21, 2026 in the Parish Hall at 10 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. If you or your church has donated to Lutheran Hospital Ministries in 2026, you are welcome to attend. Parking is available at the back of the church or there is street parking at the front. The meeting will also be made available by Zoom. Please contact the office at 403-264-4045 or by email at lhmsac@gmail.com to find out the meeting ID and password.
The Education Luncheon
The education luncheon was held on June 6th at St. Matthew Lutheran Church at 11:30 am. The topic of this luncheon was Suicide Prevention and Intervension. This luncheon was well attended. 29TH ANNUAL WALK, RUN OR ROLL FOR LOVE!
The 29th Annual Walk, Run or Roll for Love event was on April 25th, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church. 34 brave walkers embraced the snowy morning and walked 5 km in Confederation Park. To date we have raised $19,544 from the walk. Thank you to go everyone who walked or supported a walker.
